The successful candidate will have a passion for the outdoors and a drive to help grow a business which promotes such lifestyles. You must work well within a team and be able to help develop and implement marketing strategies to promote different projects. At the same time, it is important to be able to work individually to advance different ventures and be accountable for generating sales. Creativity is a must. So is the ability to work effectively unsupervised.
School PresentationsDescriptionOverhang Adventures Inc. is looking to reach out into the community and lead seminars regarding different topics of environmental awareness. We're looking for individuals hoping to share their wealth of knowledge and passion with audiences of different ages and sizes. The successful candidate will have an academic background in either environmental studies, environmental science, geology, geography, conservation, or outdoor education, or have life experience dealing directly those topics. They will also be comfortable talking and teaching in front of a crowd ranging from elementary school aged children to adults, ranging in size from 20 people to 2000+ people. Energy, creativity, and teaching experience are a must. Punctuality and one's own means of transportation are equally important. Must be allowed to work with children and be able to provide a clean criminal background check.
Trip Leader/Instructor/AssistantDescriptionImagine portaging through an old growth forest, reaching the shoreline and then pushing off on day 3 of your week long canoe trip through Temagami. Imagine being accompanied by a group of new-found friends. Now imagine getting paid for it. Trip Leader/Instructor (any discipline) Succesful candidate will have experience in planning and leading multi-day trips, as well as teaching outdoor skills (canoeing, kayaking, backpacking, survival, etc...). Certification highly recommended, but documented experience will also be considered. Must have Advanced Wilderness First Aid (WAFA) with CPR-C; Wilderness First Responder preferred. Bronze Cross or higher and a clean Police Screening also necessary. Assistant This position is ideal for individuals working towards obtaining necessary experience/certification to become an instructor. Candidates will have participated on several multi-day trips and be competent with day-to-day camping procedures. Standard First Aid with CPR-C required
