I believe that spending time in the outdoors is, by far, the most rewarding way to spend one's time. For years, I have taken every opportunity to escape the city and immerse myself in adventures in nature.

There is absolutely nothing in urban areas that is remotely comparable to kayaking in the Atlantic Ocean with a group of newfound friends and suddenly have a seal poke its head up between your boats just to say 'Hello'. In an area littered with traffic and lights, it is impossible to lay back on a rock, peacefully stare up into the Milky Way and catch an ever-exciting glimpse of a shooting star flying across the night sky. There is nothing akin to the adrenaline rush and sense of accomplishment when a group succeeds together in preparing and taking shelter before the onslaught of an incoming storm.
